This is an update on additional duties for imports from China and Hong Kong due to the Executive Order addressing the synthetic opioid supply chain.
The additional duty rate increased from 10% to 20% on March 4, 2025.
Goods entered for consumption before March 4, 2025, may be subject to the 10% rate.
Exclusions apply for certain donations, informational materials, and goods loaded or in transit before February 1, 2025.
Additional duties may not apply to goods under Chapter 98, with certain exceptions.
Goods admitted into a US foreign trade zone on or after February 4, 2025, must be admitted as "privileged foreign status" and may be subject to additional duties upon entry for consumption.
No drawback is available for the additional duties.
