As the Executive Assistant Commissioner of CBP stated, this potential ban on imports would affect "the entire supply chains for cotton, from yarn to textiles and apparel, as well as tomatoes, tomato paste and other regional exports."
The reason for this is because the United States CBP has found some evidence that there is a chance of forced labor being used in the "supply chains related to cotton textiles and tomatoes coming out of Xinjiang."
Investigations are still ongoing and the United Nations suspects that the 1 million Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang, are being held in camps and are being forced into labor.
