South Korean made battery's from SK Innovation Co has been hit by a 10-year United States import ban. The reason for this is because SK Innovation willingly destroyed evidence of them stealing battery making secrets in a previous case with LG Chem.
Currently, this company has a deal with Ford and Volkswagen as the supplier of batteries for their electric cars. So because of this, the production of Ford and Volkwagen's electric vehicle could be drastically delayed until they finding another supplier. This ban would take effect in 60 days. However, the United States International Trade Commission has allowed this company to continue to bring components for domestic battery-making for 4 years for Ford and 2 years for Volkswagen.
